Day 1Arrive in Beijing

You'll be met by our guide at the airport and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and get ready for your exciting China tour.

Day 2Beijing

Begin to explore Beijing from paying a visit first to the largest and grandest square in the world – Tiananmen Square. As walking through the square, you will come to the magnificent Forbidden City, the biggest palace complex in the world. Then, you will hop on a rickshaw to ride through the narrow alleys for a Hutong Tour, and pay a visit of a local family as well as have the lunch with local neighborhoods. Then go on to appreciate the fantastic Summer Palace, the biggest and best-preserved imperial garden so far. (B+L)

Day 3Beijing

The sightseeing today starts from exploring the great Temple of Heaven where emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties had worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvest. Afterwards, you will be guided to the snaking Mutianyu Great Wall, an uncrowded section with comfortable round trip cable car to take and picturesque scenery to enjoy. As for lunch, it will be offered at an elegant restaurant at the foot of the Great Wall. At night, the dinner is arranged to let you taste mouthwatering and authentic Peking Duck. (B+L+D)

Day 4Beijing-Xian

After breakfast, take a chance to have a close view of the Bird's Nest and Water Cube on the way to Beijing 798 Art Zone where you will be able to touch the unique sense of culture and have lunch on your own. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Xian. Upon your arrival at Xian, your local guide will meet you at airport and then transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is left on your own.
Once was the military-industrial factory complex since early 1950's, Beijing 798 Art Zone has more than 200 art & culture galleries. Meanwhile, it is often compared with New York's Greenwich Village. (B)

Day 5Xian

The highlight of the tour today lies in the world-shaking Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses where you might be shocked by the rows of life-size warriors in order. After a local featured dainty lunch, drive back to the hotel and passing by the Big Wild Goose Pagoda – the sign of ancient Xi'an. Make a stop and choose the best angle to view this "Leaning Tower of China", you will also be amazed by those exquisite architectures and sculptures on the two sides of the square in the front of the pagoda. (B+L)

Day 6Xian-Chongqing

Today is the last day of your tour in Xi'an. First, the guide will lead you to explore the ancient City Wall, which had been constructed over 600 years ago to protect the city from an attack (Bicycle Riding on the wall is included). Then head into the Great Mosque to enjoy the combination of Islamic and Chinese cultures. After lunch, you will be transferred to the airport to take a flight to Chongqing. Upon your arrival, the guide will take you to have dinner, and then send you to embark the deluxe cruise ship. (B+L+D)

Day 7Fengdu

Today is the right time to sail along the mighty Yangtze River. On the voyage, the ship will land at Fengdu where you could have an exciting excursion to explore the Ghost City. (B+L+D)

Day 8Shennong Stream

Take an exhilarating boat-trip on Shennong Stream, a rather beautiful river running through the gorges. You could enjoy the fascinating sceneries and breathe the bracing air while experiencing the fun of rowing. (B+L+D)

Day 9Yichang-Shanghai

Today you'll view the great Three Gorges Dam, the largest dam construction project on earth. As the ship arrives in Yichang, our guide will meet you on board. After lunch, transfer to the airport and take a flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you'll be picked up and transferred to the hotel. As for dinner, you have a chance to arrange it by yourself. (B+L)

Day 10Shanghai

Today, you will be guided to visit Shanghai Museum to view the splendid Chinese treasures, and then take a walk around the Bund. After tasting tasty lunch, continue to visit the Yuyuan Garden and Bazaar. Finally, amble along the alleys in Tianzifang, a neighborhood full of stalls, restaurants, cafes and shops of selling artwork. (B+L)

Day 11Depart from Shanghai

Get to the airport and board your homeward flight by yourself. Your memorable China tour ends. (B)

Welcome to Israel! Arrive Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv; meeting and transfer to your hotel in Jerusalem. Tonight, meet your Tour Directress for a Welcome Get-Together Dinner at the Mamilla Hotel celebrating your arrival in the “Golden City of Jerusalem”. D

THURSDAY, DAY 3 – JERUSALEM
This morning, our tour begins as we enter the gates of the Old City to the Jewish Quarter. Walk along the Cardo, the colonnaded main street of Byzantine Jerusalem for an introduction to the history of Israel. Visit the Herodian Mansions, a completely excavated residential quarter from 2000 years ago. On to the Davidson Center -- you’ll see a fantastic computer imaging of the Temple Mount. Continue through the amazing Southern Wall excavations to the Western Wall, the only remaining portion of the Second Temple. View the spectacular golden Dome of the Rock. Then, an extraordinary walk through the centuries in the astonishing Hasmonean Tunnel (tunnel schedule permitting.) Enjoy a Falafel Lunch in the Old City before continuing via the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Sepulchre; walk through the exotic bazaars with their wondrous aromas. Visit Yad Vashem, memorial to the Holocaust. Walk through the Museum, the Children’s Pavilion and along the Avenue of the Righteous, dedicated to Christians who rescued Jews during the Holocaust. Afterwards, drive via the Supreme Court Building and the Knesset (Parliament) to the Shrine of the Book, home of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Time for a quick walk through the new Israel Museum; see the Scale Model of ancient Jerusalem. Continue to the bustling Machane Yehuda market – join the shoppers preparing for the Sabbath. Tonight, a unique experience -- visit the illuminated Western Wall with the throngs of worshipers welcoming the Sabbath. Afterwards, share together a Traditional Friday Night Dinner at your hotel. SATURDAY, DAY 5- JERUSALEM
Morning walking tour through some of Jerusalem’s fascinating and diverse neighborhoods. Then, time to wander along the winding lines to shop in the bustling Old City. Continue to the Museum of the History of Jerusalem at David’s Citadel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Evening is free to enjoy the fantastic Mamilla Pedestrian walkway with its many cafes, boutiques and pubs. B

SUNDAY, DAY 6- JERUSALEM/DEAD SEA
Travel via the Judean desert and the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, to Masada. Ascend by cable car to this last stronghold of the Zealots in their struggle against the Romans. Visit the excavations, Herod the Great’s palace, synagogue and bathhouse. (Bat Mitzvah ceremonies arranged upon request.) Descend from these lofty heights and continue to your hotel located on the shores of the Dead Sea. Time for an “unsinkable” swim in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea or indulge yourself in some of the unique and very special thermal pools or an optional spa treatment. MONDAY, DAY 7 - DEAD SEA/ GALILEE
Today, depart the arid southern terrain for the verdant green of the rolling Galilean hills. Arrive at Bet Shean, an ancient city from the time of King Saul; see the remarkable remains of an excavated Roman city. Then, drive through the Galilean mountains to the Rimon Winery, one of the few in the world where pomegranates are used to make wines. Tour and lecture at the winery includes sampling the wines and jams as well as lunch on the site. Continue through the Golan Heights for a greater understanding of this region of Israel before arriving at our Kibbutz Hotel. Tonight, Dinner at the Kibbutz, followed by home hospitality with the women. Hear their fascinating stories of life on the kibbutz -- then and now. BLD

TUESDAY, DAY 8 - GALILEE
Today will focus on discovering and learning about the diverse religious sites in the Galilee. We begin with a drive to Tabgha, site of the Multiplication of the Fish and Loaves. Continue to Capernaum to see the ruins of an ancient synagogue dating back to the 4th century. Then, proceed to the Mt.of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount; here, you’ll see the extraordinary panoramic view of the entire Galilee. On to Safed, one of Judaism’s holiest cities, where Kabbalah flourished during the golden age; walk through the alleyways, see the ancient synagogues and the charming Artists’ Quarter. Tonight, Dinner at the Kibbutz with an informative exchange about women in the Israeli Army. Overnight at the Kibbutz. BD

WEDNESDAY, DAY 9 - GALILEE/ TEL AVIV
Mornng visit to Nazareth, the sacred town where Jesus spent part of his youth; visit the Church and Mary’s Well. Proceed to the Druze Village of Ussifiya; tour the village, the Childcare Center and meet a Druze woman; she will share her perspective of life as a Druze woman in Israel and this community. Then, visit a Druze home; see the preparation of typical Druze cuisine and enjoy lunch in the village. Afterwards, drive to the Aharonson House in the town of Zichron Yaacov. Listen to the inspirational story about Sara Aharonson, a courageous woman whose tragic romance story was intertwined with the struggle of the Jewish people in pre-state Israel. Tour her home, unchanged from the time she lived there in the early 1900’s. Then, travel along the scenic coastal road to spectacular Caesarea; explore the astounding Roman and Crusader ruins including the impressive theater and aqueduct. Continue to dynamic and cosmopolitan Tel Aviv and your hotel (be sure to enjoy the complimentary services of the Club Lounge). A later start this morning so you can enjoy some sleep and the lovely breakfast at your hotel. Then, visit Independence Hall where Ben Gurion fervently proclaimed Israel’s independence in 1948. Drive through the main streets of Tel Aviv, the “White City”, proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site; view the splendid Bauhaus architecture. Tel Aviv has the largest number of buildings in this unique style of any city in the world! Pass Yitzhak Rabin Square, dedicated to the late Prime Minister before reaching the Carmel Market (don’t forget to taste the delicious strawberries) and the charming and quaint Neve Tzedek area (Tel Aviv’s “Soho”), the first neighborhood constructed outside of Jaffa. Continue to the Ilana Goor Museum in Old Jaffa, located in the artist’s private home. Time to wander through the cobblestone alleyways of this old port city, magnificently restored, and shop at the many gorgeous galleries and boutiques. Rest of the day at leisure to prepare for your return home. Starting in Peru, the trip heads from Lima to Cusco and onward to the Inca masterpiece that is Machu Picchu. Heading south into Bolivia via a traditional experience on Lake Titicaca, there is a chance to visit La Paz. The tour then heads into Argentina for a taste of Buenos Aires and Iguaçu. The tour concludes in Rio de Janeiro with an ascent of Sugar Loaf mountain—a magnificent spot for the grand finale.

ITINERARY

Day 1 – Saturday: Arrival in Lima (-)On arrival in Lima you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Our representative will give you a kit with a detailed explanation of the program. We can help you with luggage and hotel registration. Overnight in Lima. Day 2 – Sunday: City Tour: Colonial and Contemporary Lima (B)This morning you can enjoy a city tour of Lima, otherwise known as “The City of Kings”. The tour will visit the historic colonial section of the city, visiting the Main Square where it is possible to see the Government Palace, the City Hall and the Cathedral and Archbishop’s Palace. A visit to the San Francisco Convent gives you an insight into the city’s fascinating past. Our route back to the modern part of the city takes us by pre-Inca ruin Huaca Huallamarca. The tour concludes in Miraflores where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean at “Parque del Amor” or Love Park. Overnight in Lima. Day 3 – Monday: Cusco: City Tour, Sacsayhuaman and Nearby Ruins (B)In the morning we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Cusco. On arrival you will be met by our representatives and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the morning is free to get acclimatized to the high altitude. The afternoon’s activity is a city tour of the Imperial City. This gives you a chance to see how the Andean and Spanish cultures co-existed and influenced the city. The tour starts at Santo Domingo Convent, built on the site of Koricancha, which was an important ancient Inca palace and center of worship of the Sun God. The tour continues to the Main Square, site of the Cathedral and the La Compañía Church. Later we visit the imposing Sacsayhuaman Fortress, just one example of the military Inca architecture in the area. Finally, the tour heads to the nearby archaeological sites of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, which can be found to the north east of the city. Overnight in Cusco. Day 4 – Tuesday: Free Day – Explore the City on your Own! (B)Day at leisure. Overnight in Cusco. Optional: Sacred Valley of the Incas: Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo (B/L) This optional trip drives first in the direction of the Sacred Valley, following a direct route to Pisac. On the way, we stop for photographic opportunities and to admire the Urubamba valley. It seems carpeted with crops—the local people waste no land that can be used for agriculture. On arrival in Pisac we visit the colourful indigenous market, where there is a chance to buy souvenirs and gifts. There is a buffet lunch in Urubamba before continuing on to Ollantaytambo. With its cobbled streets, preserved channels and fortress, this village is a sight to behold. In days gone by, the fortress guarded access to the less important area of the valley. Day 5 – Wednesday: Machu Picchu “The Lost City of the Incas” (B/L)A highlight of any trip to Peru, today you will visit the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. Boarding a train in Cusco, you will first enjoy the spectacular landscapes of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. On arrival at Aguas Calientes, our representatives will meet you and transfer you to the bus for your ride up the hill to the citadel. A knowledgeable tour guide will share the history of this mystical place of the Inca. After the tour there is time to explore the site alone, relax and meditate. After a buffet lunch at a local restaurant, in the afternoon you will board your train back to Cusco. Our representatives will meet you at the Cusco train station and transfer you to your hotel. Overnight in Cusco. Day 6 – Thursday: Departure to Puno – Andahuaylillas / Racchi / La Raya (B/L)The trip to Puno takes most of the day, first starting in the station, by bus. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the South Valley of Cusco along the way. First we visit Andahuaylillas, site of a pretty colonial church from the 17th century, boasting an unusual organ littered with angels and cherubs. Later, we stop at the grandiose Racchi ruins, also known as “The Temple of God Wiracocha”. Lunch is served at a restaurant along the way. We will stop at La Raya, the highest point on the road between Cusco and Puno, and excellent for a photograph. We will arrive in Puno in the afternoon and you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Puno. Day 7 – Friday: Lake Crossing by Catamaran – Visit to the Sun Island (B/L)In the morning we will transfer you by bus to the Copacabana Sanctuary to catch the catamaran to Sun Island. This island is historically important because it is believed that the Inca Empire was born here. On this island there is the chance to take in the Garden, the Stairs and the Inca Fountain. Later, the itinerary includes a visit to the Cultural Complex Intiwata, which includes the fascinating underground museum of Ekako and other attractions. You will also get the unique opportunity to sail in a huge boat traditionally made of totora reeds, from which you will get a scenic view of the Inca palace of Pikokaina. After this, we will re-board the catamaran to continue to Chua. From here we will transfer by bus to the hotel in La Paz. Overnight in La Paz. Day 8 – Saturday: La Paz – City Tour and Visit to the Valley of the Moon (B)This morning there is a chance to take a city tour of the unusual city of La Paz, which has been declared by UNESCO as the Cultural Patrimony of Mankind. The tour visits the Murillo Square, the Cathedral, the Government Palace and the National Parliament. Heading through residential zones, we later visit the Valley of the Moon, where unusual geological formations look like familiar shapes. The afternoon is free to rest or to partake in another activity such as visiting the Tiahuanaco ruins. Here you can see the fascinating historic temples and constructions of one of the most ancient cultures in America, and snap a picture of the “Puerta del Sol” (Sun Gate). Overnight in La Paz. Day 9 – Sunday: Buenos Aires (B)You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival we will transfer you to your hotel. Overnight in Buenos Aires. Day 10 – Monday: Half Day City Tour in Buenos Aires (B)Spend half a day on a city tour of Argentina’s historic capital city. The trip begins with a drive to the Plaza de Mayo. You will visit the most important and interesting sites, including the “Casa Rosada” (the pink house, home of the government), the Cabildo (town hall) and the Metropolitan Cathedral, home of the Archbishop of Buenos Aires. The tour continues to the district of San Telmo. Today, this is one of the most fashionable and desirable places to live, but until the late 1880s, it was a river port. The tour continues to the famous La Boca neighbourhood. The area is rich with history, as it was traditionally the worker district where Italian seamen and dock workers resided. The colourful tin houses and lively street life provides ample photographic opportunities. Next, the tour heads to Recoleta, the quarter of the rich of Buenos Aires. In Recoleta’s cemetery, you can see the grave of Evita Perón, Argentina’s former First Lady and beloved heroine of the working classes. Finally, the tour heads to Palermo with its magnificent mansions and parks. Overnight in Buenos Aires. Day 11 – Tuesday: Free Day – Explore the City on your Own! (B)Day at leisure. Overnight in Buenos Aires.
Optional: Full Day Gaucho at Santa Susana (beverages included) When thinking of Argentina, a typical image is that of gauchos in the pampas, and this trip allows a peek into this world. The trip to Los Cordales is 110km. We arrive at Estancia Santa Susana and are greeted by gauchos with welcome drinks and empanadas (meat pies). The day continues with opportunities to see at first hand the lives of the gauchos, while also taking in the scenic countryside. A rustic barbecue (asado) lunch of fine meats is followed by a presentation of regional music and dances. You may have the chance to appreciate the “Ring Race” (Carrera de Sortijas) or to ride on horseback. Transfers can be private or regular.
Optional: Night Tour – Dinner & Tango Show The fascinating Tango Houses of San Telmo offer an opportunity to admire all levels of tango in its different forms. With tango dancers, singers and tango orchestras you can drink in the atmosphere of Buenos Aires while enjoying dinner or a drink. Andean music, as well as typical Argentine folk music, will also be performed. The dance of Tango has a history dating back to 1880. It was originally considered a vulgar dance and music of the capital’s "arrabales" or lower class neighborhoods, blending gaucho verse with Spanish and Italian music. Day 12 – Wednesday: Iguaçu: Visit the Argentinean Side of the falls (B)Transfer to the domestic airport for the flight to Iguaçu. On arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to the Argentinean National Park, headed in the direction of these awe-inspiring falls. In this small part of north eastern Argentina, there is dense forest and more than 400 species of birds. The Iguaçu River crashes down 257 falls over 70 meters high. A fine spray at the bottom mists a colourful rainbow. Catwalks and observatories allow enjoyment of these jaw-dropping falls. The trip culminates at the best spot for your photos – The Devil’s Throat. Here the falls crash down 80 meters. Overnight in Iguaçu. Day 13 – Thursday: Visit the Brazilian Side of the Falls / Rio de Janeiro (B)In the morning we’ll head in vehicle to the National Park on the Brazilian side of the falls. The tour starts with a visit to the interpretive center of the park, where you can learn about the intricacies of the ecosystem. Later there is walking time along the main track of the park for astonishing views of the waterfalls. Return to the main point via the panoramic elevator. After your visit you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight to Rio de Janeiro. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Rio de Janeiro. Day 14 – Friday: Rio de Janeiro: Sugar Loaf Tour (B)Pão de Açucar (The Sugar Loaf) is one of Rio de Janeiro’s most famous landmarks. A city tour will allow you to enjoy the architecture and important buildings of the downtown area. The tour continues by the seaside avenues of the Flamengo and Botafogo beaches. Then your tour arrives at the Praia Vermelha cable car station, the starting point for the ascent of the Sugar Loaf. The cable car rolls over strong iron cables, tracked by a cogwheel system, and has a 70 passenger capacity. The ascent is made in two stages. The first from Praia Vermelha to Urca’s Station, and then from Urca to the Sugar Loaf summit (at 396 meters). At this height you’ll have breathtaking views over the Rio metropolitan area, a highlight of your trip to Brazil. Overnight in Rio de Janeiro.
Optional: Corcovado Tour (B) From your hotel you’ll drive to the Cosme Velho district to the station of the cog-wheel train that will transport you up the Corcovado Mountain. At the top the participants will visit the majestic statue of the Christ Reedemer at an altitude of 710 meters above sea level. This giant statue that stands at 40 meters high and weighs 1100 tons is known worldwide and is one of the main touristic symbols of Brazil. From here you’ll have an awe-inspiring 360 degree view of the city, the ocean, the surrounding beaches, the downtown area and Guanabara Bay. You’ll return to the hotel traveling alongside the seaside avenues of famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. Day 15 – Saturday: International Departure (B)You will be transferred to the airport to take your international departure flight.
